About the Show

“Henry’s Listening Room” is an exciting one hour weekly television series all about music, musicians and the music industry. Each show features multiple performances by numerous artists doing their original material and introduces audiences to what it takes to have a career in the music business.

Filmed at Henry Turner Jr.’s Listening Room, the show is hosted by the famed Baton Rouge musician and entrepreneur whose career spans more than forty years. Each episode highlights songs by Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor, the Listening Room All-Stars and local, regional and national touring acts. The original music will cover everything from blues to pop, reggae to soul, jazz to rap, country, gospel, R&B, folk and rock along with comedy, poetry and more.

The All-Stars current lineup are singer/songwriters Larry “LZ” Dillon and Owen Scott, spoken word artist Kelton ‘Nspire Harper, comedian Eddie “Cool” Deemer, poet Sir AP and Pastor Leon Hitchens. Flavor band members are drummer Jim Masters, bassist Larry “LZ” Dillon, with Ervin “Maestro” Foster on keys, and Molly Milne and Cindy Efferson on backing vocals.

Henry Turner Jr.’s Listening Room was founded in 2014. It is located at 2733 North Street in Baton Rouge and is a place where Henry firmly believes…“Stars will be made in.”     

In addition to musical performances, the viewing audience will have a chance to get up-close and personal with band members, the All-Stars, visiting guest artists and music industry professionals. These insightful interviews capture a glimpse of how they got in the music business, what it takes to be a professional musician and why they continue to play music, along with offering practical and helpful advice. The music industry professionals cover a wide variety of topics that include marketing, promotion and distribution, as well as management and visual images, offering hints and tips of what it takes to sustain a career in music.
