The Label

Hit City Digital Records was founded in 1983 by Henry Turner, Jr., as a management and promotions company. Since then the firm has expanded to include a digital record distribution wing, studio facility and publishing division located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Additionally Hit City Digital Records and Turner’s Worldwide Publishing (BMI) produce a weekly internet radio show on Blog Talk Radio entitled HCR Golden Vibes.
The company’s current roster of diverse roots artists, mostly from Louisiana and the surrounding southern area, is a mixture of rhythm and blues, soul, country, jazz and reggae.
Hit City Digital artists, including Henry Turner, Jr. & Flavor, have garnered airplay in markets across the United States in California, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, Arkansas, Louisiana, Georgia, Connecticut, Maryland, Vermont, Pennsylvania and Hawaii. Additionally they have been featured on numerous stations in Canada.

Digital Distribution

Hit City Digital Distribution is through Blue Pie Records located in Sydney, Australia; Select-O-Hits, located in Memphis, Tennessee and DanMark Music Group located in the United Kingdom. The latter was founded by the legendary Sam Phillips of Sun Records who is credited with starting the careers of Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins and Tina Turner. Combined, these two distributors allow Hit City Digital Records access to over three thousand digital stores and outlets on the internet. Lotusland Records in Milwaukee, Wisconsin handles rare vinyl records from the early catalogue.

Turner's World Publishing

Turners World Publishing owns the songs created by Henry Turner, Jr. and has non-exclusive licensing deals with major national and international music publishing companies.
One of these companies is the publishing wing of Blue Pie Records, Blue Pie Publishing, (www.bluepie.com.au), an international music distributor located in Sydney, Australia.
The Recording Rights are controlled through Turner’s World Publishing atBMI (www.bmi.com)

Turner's Recording Studio

Turner’s Recording Studio is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The digital studio, which opened several years ago, is also a rehearsal studio for Hit City Records touring acts. It includes a sound booth, direct to board inputs for string and keyboards and a drum machine. Plans are underway to expand it to include a drum booth for live drum recording and a digital video production facility with green screen for music videos. The studio is also rented out to other local acts who like its down home, laid back vibe.

HCR Golden Vibes Radio Show

HCR Golden Vibes is a weekly radio show. The program is broadcast, via the internet, nationally and internationally on Tuesday evening at 10pm. (Central Standard Time.) It is hosted by Henry Turner, Jr. It keeps fans up to date on what Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor and the rest of the labels’ roster are doing, their playdates, current releases, etc., and features other recording acts from around the country who may be coming into the Baton Rouge area to perform at Henry Turner’s Listening Room or with the band at other venues. The research indicates that HCR Golden Vibes appeals equally to men and women and its listening and interactive audience includes everyone from teens to senior citizens, of all ethnicities. One of the unique features of the program is the fact that it can be broadcast from anywhere in the United States, or the world, as long as there is internet access. Additionally, the archived programs can be accessed 24/7, from the blogtalkradio.com website.
