This years' festival will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 17 and 18 at EBRPL-Main Library at 7711 Goodwood Boulevard. This 2-day annual festival is family oriented event and provides entertainment, a kid friendly environment and good soul food cooking. It creates an opportunity for the people of Louisiana and surrounding areas a place to show off their soul food cooking skills in several categories in a judged competition, as well as showcase their talents in the entertainment and arts and crafts fields.

2025 Award Honoree
The Pioneer Award for contributions to the Soul Food industry is Cynthia Green of Owen’s Grocery Deli and Market. Founded in 1938 by her parents, David and Emma Owens, Mrs. Green and her family took over the establishment in 1979. Over the years the store evolved into a deli known for its home style breakfasts and lunches. Located in the Valley Park area community service work includes providing the elderly and needy families with hot meals.
